About P.T.A.
Who we are
Parents Taking Action, or P.T.A., is a Florida-based, nonpartisan political action committee dedicated to putting parents first — because putting parents first means putting children first.
Why P.T.A. was created
Every week, school boards, city councils, county commissions, and other public bodies across Florida make decisions that shape children’s classrooms, neighborhoods, and futures. Most of those decisions are made in public meetings — but between work, homework, and dinner, few parents have time to follow them.
P.T.A. was created to close that gap. We help parents remain informed, engaged, and active in the decisions made by local governments, school boards, school districts, and other public institutions that affect children and families.
We are proudly Florida-focused. Our work starts and ends in Florida communities, with Florida families.
Our mission
Our mission is to give parents the information, tools, and opportunities they need to remain actively engaged with their schools, local governments, and communities. We believe stronger families, safer neighborhoods, better schools, and responsible progress begin when parents have a seat at the table.
Our vision
We envision Florida communities where parents are respected, children are protected, public institutions are accountable, and local progress reflects the needs of the families they serve.
Our nonpartisan commitment
Parents Taking Action is committed to working with parents and community members across political parties and backgrounds. We focus on policies, accountability, and results rather than party labels.
