Our Priorities
Safety. Education. Community. Progress.
Four priorities guide everything P.T.A. does — each one rooted in a simple belief: local decisions work better when parents are at the table.
Safety
Children learn and grow best when they feel safe — in the classroom, on the way to school, at the park, and at home. P.T.A. works to keep safety at the top of every local agenda, from school security and emergency preparedness to safe streets, safe parks, and mental health awareness. We believe families and public agencies do their best work when they cooperate and communicate openly.
Our goals
- Support safe, secure schools and well-prepared emergency plans.
- Encourage responsible infrastructure that protects kids walking, biking, and riding to school.
- Promote mental health awareness and access to support for students and families.
- Champion safe, well-maintained parks and public spaces.
- Strengthen cooperation among families, schools, and local public safety agencies.
Education
Every child deserves an excellent education, and every parent deserves a clear view of how decisions about that education are made. P.T.A. supports educational quality, transparency in school governance, meaningful parental involvement, and accountability for results. We want parents to understand school budgets, know their options, and feel confident speaking up for their students.
Our goals
- Promote transparency in school board and district decision-making.
- Support student achievement, classroom resources, and great teaching.
- Encourage responsible budgeting that puts dollars in classrooms.
- Help parents understand their involvement and school choice options.
- Champion career readiness so every graduate has a path forward.
Community
Strong communities are built on parks kids can play in, youth programs families can count on, and local governments that listen. P.T.A. encourages civic participation, supports family-friendly recreation and youth programming, and pushes for responsible public spending and better communication between residents and the institutions that serve them.
Our goals
- Support parks, recreation, and youth programs families rely on.
- Encourage civic participation by parents across every neighborhood.
- Build local partnerships between families, schools, and community groups.
- Promote responsible public spending and clear communication from local institutions.
Progress
Florida communities are growing, and growth done well can mean better schools, safer roads, modern infrastructure, and more opportunity for the next generation. P.T.A. supports thoughtful, responsible development, government efficiency, workforce development, and long-term planning that keeps families at the center of every decision.
Our goals
- Encourage thoughtful growth and responsible development decisions.
- Support modern infrastructure and technology that serve families.
- Promote economic opportunity and workforce development for the next generation.
- Advocate for government efficiency and long-term planning.
